The role of board members is to provide oversight over the larger operations of the festival staff, ensure the fiscal health of the organization, and steward the organization in a manner that aligns with its mission to educate and connect communities through forward-thinking programs of environmental films and discussion.
Board members are expected to attend bi-monthly board meetings (either in-person or remotely), and our annual day-long board retreat. The term for each board member is 3 years, and the expected time commitment is a minimum of 80 hours/year (additional time is expected for committee work).
Our current board of directors is comprised of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as 7 members-at-large, and our festival CEO who serves as the President of the Board. There are 5 committees currently in place, which board members lead: Marketing, Fundraising & Events, Ethics, Host, and Nominating.
