Year after year, for an endless eight months, thousands of families move to a desert in India to extract the whitest salt from the burning earth. Every monsoon their salt fields are washed away. And still they return.

Award-winning film My Name is Salt is an observational documentary about people striving for perfection and their devotion towards work. In her debut feature film, Farida Pacha has created a lyrical and poetic portrait of what it takes to live and work in this relentless landscape.
