How did SF Green Film Fest inspire you?

Together we've seen over 200 environmental film programs over the past five years. Everyone of them stands out for that moment when there's a green spark, a connection, an idea.

In celebration of five fabulous festival years, our Board of Directors shared some of those inspiring moments from their time at the Festival and thank you for making it happen...

"I was really proud when I saw the Governor sign legislation enacting a state-wide ban on plastic bags. SFGFF showed a film entitled Bag It our first year of the festival and I’d like to think we were a part of engaging discussions that further lead to this legislation."  - Kevin Krueger, Board Chair

"SFGFF is a great way to satisfy my curiosity on a wide variety of topics.  Some films speak to what I’m already interested in (Urbanized - city planning, Terra Blight - electronics waste) while others introduce completely new topics (The City Dark - light pollution, Lost Rivers - uncovering urban waterways)." - Heather Louie, Board of Directors

"SFGFF connected me to our pollinating friends – the bees! After watching More Than Honey at the 2013 Festival, their honey somehow tastes sweeter after learning so much more about their lives. I love knowing that we have hives all throughout San Francisco and can buy incredibly local honey at the farmer’s market." - Jason Kaminsky, Board of Directors

Because of your support we are able to bring the most compelling new environmental films to San Francisco and join together the ideas and ambitions of filmmakers, environmental experts and Bay Area audiences in the theater and beyond.

Help make 2015 a year of inspiring green film with our 5th Festival Gift Match Challenge. Kevin Krueger (our Board Chair) and Mark Hunter, will match the first $5,000 we raise by April 5.
