As part of our youth program, we hand-over a slot in our annual Festival program to a team of students from UC Berkeley Student Environmental Resource Center (SERC) to design and produce in their vision.
At the screening of Mondo Banana at the 2014 SF Green Film Festival, students from the UC Berkeley Student Environmental Resource Center (SERC), in collaboration with SFGFF, hosted a celebration of the foods we all love featuring: you! The audience was encouraged to perform a song, original piece of poetry, dance or other form of creative expression at our open mic — the floor is yours.
Students worked with Mondo Banana filmmaker, Ryan White and Cella Mitchell from SF Public Library, to create an interactive and fun way to think about food security.
"The Festival was a great experience for me. I enjoyed the opportunity to view both well-made and well-researched films that really sparked a conversation. I learned a lot from the people I met and especially appreciated the opportunity to talk with guests about the films after screenings." - Hanna, UC Berkeley SERC student
