Upcoming Events & Screenings

We are so excited to share more compelling environmental documentaries with you in 2015! Our screening team is hard at work reviewing this year's entries, with over 330 film submissions from 46 countries for the festival in May.

Can't wait until May? Stay tuned to our newsletter for more green film events coming up in the next few months. To kick-off our new season, we're thrilled to be bringing you Valley Uprising. Join us for a special screening on March 10 - see the full event details below.

To all our amazing supporters, I need to say a heartfelt thank you. Because of you we smashed through our end of year gift goal, putting us in an excellent place to bring more filmmakers and students to the 5th SF Green Film Festival. Thank you to everyone that donated and helped us end 2014 on a high note.

More good news came in the mail and we start 2015 with our official 501(c)(3) designation as a non-profit. Previously, we had a fiscal sponsor but now we're standing on our own two feet and we're eager to get going on delivering our mission. Expect great things ahead!

We can't wait to see you at one of our screenings this year!

Best, Rachel

If you were amazed by Yosemite Valley climbers, Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson's, quest to be the first to free climb Dawn Wall, you'll be stunned by the history and counterculture that went before them in this special presentation of the highly-anticipated, feature-length film Valley Uprising.

Valley Uprising is the riveting, unforgettable tale of this bold tradition: half a century of struggle against the laws of gravity — and the laws of the land. For fifty years explorers and mad(wo)men have left materialism behind and ventured onto the high, lonesome granite. The torch has been passed down across three generations of climbers; through rivalries, tragedies and triumphs, the art of Yosemite climbing has advanced beyond anyone’s imagination.
