In January 2017, millions of women marched on Washington, coming together in solidarity to express that women’s rights are human rights and their power cannot be ignored. That same day, hundreds of sister marches took place in cities and small towns across America. It was the largest one day march in US history. These millions of individuals united "in solidarity to express to the new administration & congress that women’s rights are human rights and their power cannot be ignored." Filmed in San Francisco, Oakland, Boston, and Washington D.C., WOMEN'S MARCH explores several women’s motivation to march. Some are marching for the first time. For others, this has been a decades-long fight for human rights, dignity and justice. The common theme is the spirit of democracy.
