Seeds_of_Time_WEB.jpgMost of us take seeds for granted, but they are the basis for our food production system. Gene banks of the world are crumbling, crop failures are producing starvation inspired rioting, and the accelerating effects of climate change are already affecting farmers globally. But Cary Fowler's journey, and our own, is just beginning: From Rome to Russia and, finally, a remote island under the Arctic Circle, Fowler's passionate and personal journey may hold the key to save a resource we cannot live without: our seeds.

Screening: June 2, 2014 at Roxie Theater. California Premiere.

Panel Discussion: Our Food at Risk
With IPCC scientists warning that severe weather will lower global agricultural production, the connection between food and climate disruption is coming to the fore. After the screening of Seeds of Time, director Sandy McLeod and Cary Fowler, the film’s primary character, will discuss the documentary with Greg Dalton, host of the Climate One radio & TV show. Greg founded Climate One at The Commonwealth Club in 2007 after traveling to the Arctic on a Russian icebreaker.

WINNER: 2014 Audience Award
